If you are starting a new business, or have recently started a business, I am sure you realize the importance of growing your brand’s reputation. There are many competing products out there, and standing out is a function of the quality of your product, the product’s packaging, as well as the effort and quality of marketing your company. It is particularly difficult to develop distribution channels with retailers if you need to form distribution channels. Many retailers are hesitant to carry goods from newly created companies when they do not have a well-known name attached to it. Developing a brand name and reputation is difficult to achieve, although there are many alternate ways to succeed at growing your brand.
A tradeshow exhibit is an excellent way of presenting your product to those who are associated with the industry. Basically, tradeshow attendance is limited to individuals who are interested in establishing new business relationships, purchasing products, or looking for services in your target market. It is a captive audience that provides an excellent opportunity for developing your company image. However, lots of competition is present in this market as well. Many other businesses are attempting the same thing that you are; to gain access to a limited number of customers and potential distribution channels. Therefore it is imperative that you stand out at a tradeshow. Of course it is important to have a quality product and/or a competitive price as a precursor to this.
One important way to stand out is to design catchy trade show exhibits and displays that draw attention to your booth. This will increase the likelihood of individuals viewing your booth and this increased traffic will often lead to increased sales. Eye-catching trade show exhibits and displays may involve an interesting or unique product name or booth display, or an intriguing design that draws people into the booth.
Another way to increase the traffic to your trade show display is to offer a giveaway. A pen, pad, or keychain, labeled with your company contact information (email and phone number) is a good way to draw traffic in and to increase the name recognition of your company.
Marketing your company is difficult in any setting, but having a memorable brand and display in a tradeshow increases your marketability and will increase the name recognition of your company in the future. Don’t despair if your tradeshow presence does not convert to immediate sales, as name recognition of your brand may lead to increased future sales.
