Event trade show apps are an excellent resource to utilize for a number of reasons; they allow you to post your trade show displays schedule, connect with attendees and other exhibitors, and customers can also make appointments with you at the event. Event apps can also be used to get feedback from attendees on your trade show program, whether you had a speaker, presentation, or demonstration. Knowing what your audience thought of the program will allow you to tweak it for your next show in order to increase your chances of trade show success next time. Here are some ways you can use your event app before, during, and after the show in order to make the most of your show booth.
BEFORE THE SHOW
You re not going to have very many people using it if they don t even know about it. Promote your app on your website, through social media, email newsletters, and through your blog to get as many people downloading it as possible.
Check the Number of Downloads
Track how many people have downloaded your app. If that number is much lower than anticipated, push more promotion strategies to get more people aware of the app and wanting to download it. Incentives are a great way to increase the number of downloads, such as free e-books, white papers, or discounts.
Keep an eye on how many attendees register for presentations or seminars you have scheduled at your custom display. Whether the number is greater or lower than expected, make sure you have plenty of room to accommodate the speaker and your audience. You may need to move it to a larger or smaller space, based on the number of people registering.
DURING THE SHOW
As I mentioned, event apps are great ways to get feedback on your booth and events that took place. While the memory is still fresh in their minds, have attendees fill out a questionnaire that will give you an idea of what worked, what didn t, and what changes should be made for next time.
Use Live Polls During the Session
Make polls a part of your event because this will keep your audience engaged in what you or your speaker has to say. Also, the app will give you an idea of which attendees are most actively answering the polls and are more engaged than other attendees. Interview these people to find out what they enjoyed about your booth, what brought them to it, and what they wish you would have done at your booth.
AFTER THE SHOW
Now that the event is over, find out what attendees feelings were about your booth and activities by sending them surveys. The more feedback you can get, the more successful you will be at the next show.
Track Attendee Usage
How many attendees downloaded the app? When did a majority of them download it? Knowing this information will give you an idea of what triggered attendees to download it in the first place. Also, take a look at how many people clicked on sponsor offers and converted into customers. If this number is lower than expected, look for more relevant sponsors at your next event.
