The look of your graphics is just as important as the design of your show display since it is the first thing attendees will notice. Unless you are a professional graphic designer, this task can be a difficult one, and can add stress to your trade show experience. Even the most novice exhibitor can create stunning graphics by following these rules.
1. Who Are You?
Before beginning to design your trade show graphics, think about the following questions:
What does your business do?
Why should customers use your products instead of the competitors?
What products or services do you want to emphasize to at the event?
The answers to these questions should be included in your graphics without overwhelming attendees with too many pictures and text. Try to use as few images and text as possible to create a booth that is easy to understand without making visitors try to figure out what your company does through a collage of pictures.
2. Use Easy-to-Read Font
The most popular font used on custom trade show displays is Arial because it is very easy to read from a distance. The font should also be large enough for attendees to read from the convention aisles. As I stated in tip #1, very little content should be used because it may overwhelm attendees and they won t want to spend time reading paragraphs of content.
3. Know What Your Competitors Sell
Do a little research before designing your graphics to figure out what makes your business different from the competition. Once you have figured this out, emphasize it throughout your display system. For example, if your business sells a product that your competitors don t have, promote it through your graphics and marketing materials.
